Bon Voyage Connie! Welcome Stephenie!

It is with sadness and joy that we say goodbye to our Children's Librarian, Connie Lyons, who is retiring today. Connie has been Children's Librarian here at West Long Branch Public Library (off and on) for the past 17 years. We will miss Connie and wish her the best in her retirement. Replacing Connie as our new Children's Librarian is Stephenie Acosta! Longtime West Long Branch Public Library customers will remember Stephenie when she worked with us as Access Services Head from 2001 to 2006. Congratulations to Stephenie and Connie! The West Long Branch Public Library staff and Board would like to thank Monmouth County Library for furnishing us with a Children's Librarian through our status as a Member Library. DVDs For The Troops!

West Long Branch Public Library is partnering with other Monmouth County libraries to bring DVDs to our troops overseas. If you have DVDs you would like to donate please bring them into the library and we will deliver them to the county and they will be shipped overseas. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness.

This year's Academy Awards will be presented on February 25, 2007. While you wait to see who this year's winners are, stop by the library to view past Oscar winners from our DVD collection. Join Rob Balko of the Atlantic Center for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine for a program entitled "How to Increase Energy, Vitality & Youth" tonight at the library. January Art Exhibit - Art Society of Monmouth

The Friends of the West Long Branch Public Library present the art exhibit for January 2007, which features artwork by members of the Art Society of Monmouth. The exhibit, including acrylics, oils and photos, will be on display in our Meeting Room during regular library hours from January 1st - 31st. Click on the picture to get a closer look at one of the pieces that will be on display in the library. Artist Judi Gilden won a 2007 award in the Traditional/Realism category as given by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Artists Professional League. Her winning artwork is currently on display in this exhibition.
