Book Discussion Group May Selection: Founding Mothers by Cokie Roberts

During the month of May the West Long Branch Public Library’s Book Discussion Group will be reading Founding Mothers by Cokie Roberts. This New York Times bestselling author brings to light the stories of the women who fought the American Revolution as valiantly as the men. Using personal correspondence and private journals, Ms. Roberts vividly describes the everyday trials, extraordinary triumphs, and often surprising stories of theses patriotic and passionate women.

“Roberts creates a strong…case that without the patriotism of women on the home front, the Colonies would have lost the Revolutionary War… Founding Mothers is a series of entertaining mini-biographies and engaging vignettes.” -The New York Times

If you would like to read along with us you can check out a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk.
